    Good question! Some of the earliest human habitation sites show evidence that the people studied the moon. For example, the Lascaux Cave site in France has paintings that are over 15,000 years old. The paintings show a deer with a series of dots that may represent each night of the moon's phase....

    Hi Carol I haven't been there, but I'd sure love to go... I looked at the Wikipedia article ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazca_Lines ) and there doesn't seem to be much evidence that the figures were any kind of observatory..solar or otherwise.... But who knows what we'll learn in the...

  • Newgrange in Ireland - 1000 years older than Stonehenge

    Have any of you been to Newgrange in Ireland? If so, were you there during a solar alignment? I heard it is 1000 years older than Stonehenge! I wonder what they were trying to do with it. BT
