    Sun spots

If you were to get as close to the sun as you can in a space ship, how many sun spots could you see?

    Re: Sun spots

It depends on when you look at the sun. The number of sunspots increases and decreases approximately every 11 years. On some days very few spots are seen, and on others roughly one hundred or more.

The chart at the above link indicates that few sunspots would be seen now, because the sun is near the trough of its sunspot cycle.
